Linereader is part of the SMS Traceability Suite.

Linereader records data sent by a barcode scanner via an RS232 connection. The data is saved to the SMX Database. Each record contains the date, time and the scanned serial number.

Scanners can be placed anywhere in the production line. More than one Linereader instance can be running at a time. This enables data collection at more than one position.

Linereader is launched by Linecontrol automatically.

For each instance of Linereader an interface window is displayed. This window can be minimised but not closed.

• The name of each Linereader position is displayed in the title bar.
• The data for the last 1000 scans is displayed in the list window.
